Yes. I use a combination of mud, sand, sea water, and more mud. A spray of WD40 at the most.

Mine get lubed with pretty much straight dirt. I stay away from water typically. :)

 I have long been careful and consistent about keeping O gauge trains, RC tanks, and especially my cars lubricated properly, but I have never lubricated RC tank tracks pins themselves. While I run my tanks very little, and almost always indoors, I use Labelle plastic compatible lubricants (grease for gears, oil for shafts). I would still think that using on track pins the lube I use for shafts would pick up dirt and make matters worse. Am I wrong?

Only track lube I've done is on 6 or 7 links on a Tiger 1 that refused to flex easily over the sprocket. Not sure why they were so stubborn, but the dry graphite powder I used seemed to help.
Otherwise, never use anything on tracks. Working them seems to loosen everything up and keep them loose.

I have used dry lube in gearboxes but tracks nothing.
Any compound witll be an abrasive paste in no time.
I run on clean concrete after dirt to let debris drop out
