"Give a person a rc tank and they tank for a day. Teach a person to rc tank and they rc tank for a lifetime...and buy more rc tanks."

It can be daunting to can opener your first tank, but it's a tank. Breaking down is what they do best. And hey, there's no rush. Everybody will be here to help.
In the meantime, grab your instructions that should show how to open the hull--if not--the Torro owners can help you on here.
Personally, I'd give the battery a full charge and see if anything gets corrected. It is surprising how erratic these things get on a low battery. Things work fine, and then they don't.
If problems persist, get it opened, check your gearboxes and listen to the click. It could be a loose part that's jamming them, or maybe one of your tracks is binding. Also, take each wire that plugs in on any of the boards and unplug it, then plug it back in firmly. Now, try your functions again. You've taken care of the basics and if the problems persist, let us know and let the hardcore troubleshooting begin!
Or...send it to Mr. Bix, and ask for a cool paint job too!
Best of luck,
Mike

Re: Torro tank being weird
you lot are way to nice. So far i have got the track off and was running it and the noise was central to the motor, I'm getting some grease to see if that fixes it but it sounds like the actual motor is making the noise. I wouldn't be able to do a motor replacement as its soldered on and i don't have a soldering iron let alone enough money to buy one.

What kind of sound? Is it a whining noise or a grinding noise? Whining noise is pretty normal for a brushed motor that doesn't have an ultrasonic electronic speed controller. Grinding would not be normal.

Its a really loud cracking noise and it only comes from the left of the tank.
