Good Morning,
On my down to the P.O. in a few minutes to pick up a new vehicle, my first ever British Tank. First tho', a couple of Pics from priming the Road Wheels last night. (Two of these will remain in Primer for the paint scheme selected for this tank)

I am forever curious about insignificant matters: The road wheels seem to be the steel tired type, replicating real ones likely primed wherever they were cast. And if you run the tank, the primer will wear off just as on a real Königstiger. Why did you mask the outer edge of the road wheels?

Good Evening, Herr, Doc!
If you mean the thin, 'facing' outer edge of the road wheel, it would have been primed and sprayed from the Factory. The wheel surfaces that ride on the track would be bare steel of course. The thin facing edge of the road wheel would have primer and paint worn down by dirt, stones, etc... on the tracks when moving cross country. Since this represents one of the first new King Tiger tanks that were hastily sent via rail then road march to Normandy to face the Allies, I have left the facing edge of the road wheels in paint and primer.

Good Afternoon!
Replacement Smoker arrived today from a red hot volcanic locale in the Pacific. It looks good so I will swap it out tomorrow and give it a test. I need to get the Dunkelgelb on the rest of the road wheels and then primer the suspension arms. More progress underway.
(Puttering around on the Crusader still in between King Tiger steps)

Good Afternoon!
Took a spare hour and removed the original Smoker for this Tank (after cleaning up the connections and testing one final time produced no results) and installed the replacement unit in its permanent mounted position. This involved removing some Glue Monkey excess and moving the MFU up one level so the wiring from the Smoker would reach the plug in. New tubing completed the simple installation. Pics of a Smoker in action do not work well even when using a new camera phone so I made a small video of the Smoker running and sent it to my Benefactor. On to more detail for the rear armor plate next...

Actually it's impressive that you look to get almost even smoke from both pipes I'd be satisfied. I can see that well enough in the pics.

Question- what is the big blue board in the rear next to the smoker?

Thank you for looking in. The Smoker works great with some Mega Steam dropped in. I'm satisfied and pleased with the results. The Blue Board is the Receiver for the Tank. The Crystal plugs into it through a Slot in the Battery Compartment. This Tank is receiving a Detail and Paint Update along with some metal Road Wheels and metal HL Suspension Arms. Sprockets and Idlers were already metal from the get go some 14 yrs past. The Tank will run the original Electronics since I would like to keep it somewhat as it was when it came out. I remember it was a Big Deal then! (certainly to me ;0)

Thanks for looking in, Alan. It is appreciated. Herman! No fretting, my Friend. There are certainly better ways to run an RC Tank nowadays. This Build is just me being a little nostalgic. The next Tank in this Dual Build is a brand new HL King Tiger with the Henschel Turret and all the Bells and Whistles. I am considering doing an Ambush paintjob on that one using the original paint on it as a base since it seems to be pretty well done. ( Sort of like that good paintjob on the Taigen Panther G build from a few years ago )
