As I keep track of this project I’m wondering how you might build a house, or cabin in your neck of the woods !!
The roof, then walls, then the foundation!!!!! :wtf:

Hell of a demonstration in tidy persistence ;)

Herman!
I suppose I could have reversed the order that I am using on this Tank. ;0) I honestly did expect the Zimmerit to be more difficult on the Turret than it was and wanted to get it done early on. Moving on with the Fun! Always good to hear from you!

Good (late) Afternoon,
I was going to remove the roadwheels today but instead got caught up in making nylon bushings for the sprocket shafts. I almost broke the Lower Hull trying to remove the deco covers for where the shafts exit the hull. Instead, I stepped back and gave it some thought. One of those Ah hah! Moments later, I removed the gearboxes and made up the bearings out of nylon washers that I had laying around. I cut flats in them for the front armors slope on the Lower and with the gearboxes installed, that press fit kept them in place. No more shaft wobble. Next I looked at all the wiring and connections in the Lower and was satisfied there. I put a Batt in to test and tried the Smoker after putting some Mega Steam in the box. Well, although I could feel the air coming out of the Exhausts, and the pump shaft was going like crazy, no white trail. The heating element must be out on this one. Kinda making me rethink getting a basic KT for the new stuff in it...oh well. I will try to replace the heating element with some old one that I have in Storage. More fun tomorrow,
Painless

Toucan has a couple for sale that are in rough shape but you could likely negotiate for a song and cannibalize the guts.

https://www.toucanhobby.com/products/se ... 1631&_ss=r

Motion has a few too-

Motion would be free shipping and with a steel gearbox.

Mr. Chef!
Thank you (and you as well, Alan ;0) for the information on the KT Sales and the information about the Gearboxes. Those are indeed the original Gearboxes for this Tank in Splendi-ferrous(?) Pot Metal. I will check those KTs out because new running sounds and Electronics\Smoker would be very nice. I've got a set of the Steel Gearboxes put back for this Tank and if these Originals strip or drop a Tooth, I will swap them out (just got to find them in Storage now ;0)

Good Evening,
Spoke with a Close Friend out on the Islands and he located a replacement Smoker of the right vintage for this Build. So there is that ;0) Today I removed the old plastic roadwheels and Asiatam metal suspension arms. Anybody needs any of this, come chat with me. The HD springs I bought for this Tank way back when will be reused for the new metal roadwheels and suspension arms from HL. Moving on!
regards,
Painless
