So what needs to be fixed on the barrel of that gray one? I've seen videos of it working and running. The seller is legit.

The barrel counterweight.
This feature is a very signature piece of a ST as to the number of vent holes, with the shape of the counterweight.
On this I would go a round one, thinner than the one on mine, but a bigger diameter.
Then go Dunklgelb

Mr. Chef if you do go down the Sturmtiger route and hope you do (as it is a vehicle that really grows on you) you have mentioned you really like doing the research first.

This book is fantastic. Since there were only 18 SturmTigers known to have been converted there are colour plates and chapters for at least 10 of them. The Menden one on the cover is the one I want to do to complete the 3 1002 Kompanie ones that had the unique brush stroke variation of hinterhalt. The Taigen version while actually a very nice factory paint job reminds me of some 1970's drapes with leaf patterns :D. As Mr. Bix says the first thing on the grey one is apply dunkelgelb. I also think the only one that remained totally dunkelgelb was the prototype that was also the only one converted from a mid Tiger lower. Anyway I think you would really change your mind on the Sturmtiger. Also although butt ugly people really like it running around the field

My Sturm was also a purchase of the upper from Forgebear and the price was fantastic. The IR upper hull version is the route to go. Also if possible use the metal Tiger version lower with the metal tracks and wheels. It's a brute with the weight. Only thing is you will need to magnetize the hull as unlike the complete version it won't have the brace that allows for the on off switch to be accessible through the rear hatch and also I couldn't get the usual Taigen spades to line up for the hull release but no biggie. Also you need to use a lower profile gearbox than the 4.1 Taigen with a separately purchased lower as when the barrel goes through the motion when you set facing the sky it will hit the gearboxes. I kept my 4.1 geaboxes in anyway as the tank drives fantastic and I don't ever raise the gun right to the upper extreme as the one on the right is. The gun mechanism is quite clever and I wish they had used it in the Jagdtiger to allow some traverse

Panzermech, yours look absolutely fantastic. H'mmmm maybe just maybe,,,,, h'mmmmm...

Well lets try to justify this to myself. Ian loathes Tigers but still turns out awesome examples...

Panzermech also does great work but I just don't like it... H'mmm
It’s Tiger based. This is like having 4 children, and then saying I really, really, really hate the fourth one because it has straight hair and not curly. Or because your team isn’t doing well, you’re gonna stop supporting them. Just do one, get it out of your system. By doing two Tigers, totally cured me from my Tiger addiction. 🤣🤣🤣

That's not how it normally ends up though. :haha: :haha: :haha: :haha: :haha: Take me for example. I have 5 Panther G's and a Jagdpanther. Could never say for certain I wouldn't build more :D
