25/26 Group Builds Introduction [Cold War] / [Self-propelled artillery]
Time flies. A year has passed and we are starting another edition of group building! As there were no other proposals, this time there will be two categories:
[Cold War] - post-war vehicles of the Warsaw Pact, NATO and "non-aligned", build or used between 1947 and 1991
[Self-propelled artillery] - self-propelled guns, howitzers, mortars and rocket artillery, all countries and eras
[Cold War] - post-war vehicles of the Warsaw Pact, NATO and "non-aligned", build or used between 1947 and 1991
[Self-propelled artillery] - self-propelled guns, howitzers, mortars and rocket artillery, all countries and eras

Does a Sturmtiger count as self propelled artillery?

Yes. It's rocket artillery.

Better pull my finger oot, complete the existing project, and change my projects around.

My least Favorite... IMHO it doesn't deserve to even have "Tiger" as part of its nomenclature...Panzermechaniker wrote: ↑Wed Jul 02, 2025 1:44 am Does a Sturmtiger count as self propelled artillery?
Oh well.

Sturmtiger hatred
, What have these 2 lovely ladies ever done to earn that. I said no more tanks but I've always wanted to do the Menden Sturm-Moeser-Kompanie 1002 to complete the trio. I did the Ebendorf one originally and then the Brumby one for one of the guys in the club. The Menden has a little bit more yellow of the 3 so would be interesting. I'm almost considering this a challenge. Not sure I want to splash out another $1K+ CAD but the Torro Sturmtiger is seriously one of the best tanks I own out on the field and I need a winter project

Re: 25/26 Group Builds Introduction [Cold War] / [Self-propelled artillery]
I like the Sturmtiger, but probably because I built one to be a paintball combat tank.
I do have one in 1/16 and have it converted to be able to battle with Tamiya and HL tanks. Still need to fit a proper mount for the LegoDEI "apple".

I just don't like it. It's a one trick pony of epic proportions. Reminds me of an obese blunderbuss
Panzermech, yours look absolutely fantastic. H'mmmm maybe just maybe,,,,, h'mmmmm...
Well lets try to justify this to myself. Ian loathes Tigers but still turns out awesome examples...
Panzermech also does great work but I just don't like it... H'mmm
Well,, I could pick this up from Dave- https://www.forgebeartanks.com/store/p1 ... rsion.html
And then find a donor lower... H'mmm
But it would have to be late wheels...
H'mmm if I found the lower,,, and did some creative camo work... H'mmm and for another regular upper... I could also have a dual project... H'mm

Orrrrrr,,,, What have we got here?
Whats broken? Can the barrel parts be sourced? Opinions? Doable?
