m26 pershing rear light
hi guys, need your expertise
i change my pershing rx13 with rx18,where do i connect the rear light to?
i try connecting it together with the head light but the head light goes off and if i disconnect the rear the head light goes again
thanks in advance

Re: m26 pershing rear light
Connecting to the headlights should be fine. Sounds like you need to check the wires to the rear light since what you describe may be a short circuit..
Re: m26 pershing rear light
you can not connect the rear lights to the RX 18 board

so where to ::)BREL wrote: you can not connect the rear lights to the RX 18 board
Re: m26 pershing rear light
Are you wiring the rear LED straight across the headlight ones (in parallel) or have you wired it in line (in series).
Have you tried swapping the wires to the rear light over? The ideas seem daft, but so is the problem.
There is no reason why wiring the rear LED in parallel with the headlights shouldn't work.

Re: m26 pershing rear light
I tried to wire in the rear lights on my bulldog to the front lights and found that the rear lights only worked so gave up, my bulldog has an Rx 18 board in it, there is no separate socket on the Rx 18 board to wire the rear lights, so if you bin the smoker as I do, you could use the smokers socket to wire in the rear lights on the Pershing or bull dog remembering to short out the smokers switch at the same time, I cannot get the lights to work using the above method because I use the smokers socket & switch to power a fan to cool the board, it switches on when you press the start button on the controller,Kopral wrote:so where to ::)BREL wrote: you can not connect the rear lights to the RX 18 board
another alternative is to use the smokers socket for the rear lights and do not short out the smokers switch, but use the switch to turn the rear lights on and off as you desire

Re: m26 pershing rear light
Hi folks,
One thing you have to realise is that LEDs are Light Emitting DIODEs, not bulbs!
You can't wire them any old way round, in series, or parallel, without the due care and attention required for their polarity and voltage.
All differently colo(u)red LEDs drop a different voltage as well, so you can't wire a red directly in parallel with a white and expect both to work.
The number of combinations is too many to cover here, but if you make sure each pair of same-coloured LEDs are in series in the same direction with a 270 to 560 Ohm resistor you won't go too far wrong, or give each LED its own dropper resistor.
If the LED doesn't light, then swap the wiring. Test each LED before with a series resistor (use the 560 Ohm for safety!) across the battery pack to get the polarity right. DON'T test them when still wired up to your RX13/14/18/etc as I won't be held responsible for you shoving reverse voltages up your boards! "They don't like it up 'em".
Good luck!

thanks mate, just did that and its working now so it seems i need to find the polarity on each ledNigelDerEnglander wrote: Hi folks,

this is my first tank to modify sooooo pardon my knowledge

thanks to all and if you dont mind another silly question in the future ::)
Re: m26 pershing rear light
Howdoo,
i'm disemboweling a bulldog with a blown rx-18 board and noticed an extra plug fitted to the multi plug, seems to be connected to the front lights and the rear lights have a matching plug to fit it but i've not tried it as most of the wiring was disconnected when i got it, i'll try for some pictures
regards Jack.
