Me too. Being a long weekend I may be able to get some paint on them.

Been busily working away on the houses. Still not really done, but getting closer.

Doing some painting and customizations which included a different kind of window for the house:

Some new shutters for the shop:

Better shot of the roof situation. The third one (not shown) will have no dormer windows.

I also found some chimney stacks to print and put in the holes of the chimney:

I didn't have the other building in the pics as it's being primed for painting.

That's all for now...

The color of the Boulangerie appears similar to what is called "Jamestown Blue." The color alone makes me want to go in an get some bakery. I imagine a diorama in front of a confectioner's shop: six Germans leaping out of a SdKFz. 251 and four G.I. screeching to a halt in a Jeep, war over, eating started.

They are really coming along. Are you going to light them up?

Probably going with a no on that one as our battles are during the day. It's already taking me long enough to finish them... :) Worked on them again tonight cutting windows from some $1.49 acrylic sheet I picked up at a local hobby store. Also got the majority of the clay tile roof on one of the houses. I'll probably post more pics after my build session tomorrow. The bakery you've seen is blue, white, and grayish. Still have some wooden beam detail to add to it. The first house is going to be pale yellow with a greenish color on the windows, doors, shutters and ledges. Still have some wooden beam detail to add to it. That's the one that got the clay roof tiles added tonight. I think the last house will be an off white (ivory) with red accents on it's custom windows/doors. There will be some other surprise treatments on the lower levels of each building.

Until tomorrow...

I was really surprised how difficult it was to paint them in such a way that didn't jar with the tanks. Yours look great. I've still got to do the glazing on mine. I've got it but the bridge is taking all my build time again!

As you have done a number on the chimney stacks you really should pop a smoker in there now yknow!

As far as painting goes, I just searched for pics of Normandy buildings and kinda modeled my colors after some of the ones I saw.

I got the roof done on the yellow house tonight. Once the glue is dry it will be primed and painted a terracotta orange color.

Image

The roof color will go nice with the brick work color on the side of the lower level. No, I didn't lay bricks or print bricks. It's just textured paper. :)

Image

These two building got acrylic windows installed in all the windows/doors, the blue one got the shutters painted/mounted, and the yellow one got the window/doors/trim painted.

Image

There is still a lot of wood trim and decorative wood trim to paint and install on both of these. Currently printing roof tiles for the 3rd building. That one still doesn't have any paint work on it.

That's all for now...
