Well, I ditched the idea of those tanks. I’m trying to find neglected tanks that aren’t as popular, for example, my fw190 will be this plane….i have the history of it. Just hope it doesn’t end up like it when it is done, lol.

I did find these tanks for my HL build. Thoughts? Opinions?

Those Star decals may also be available in 16th via eBay. I have a selection of 16th T-34 decals. As to which one...go with what grabs ya! I do admit that the barbed wire on 124 is different from any I've seen.

Yep it's a bit awry. But they were known to string barbed wire on the sides of Tigers on the Eastern front to discourage unwanted boarding parties.

I've just recently since discovering the joys of using an airbrush began emulating field applied camouflage patterns. So less Big or Even pattern and more smaller sweeps and spots like a scale support crew painter could accomplish. I do like something to be appealing to me. But many pictures are artists representations of what they think or thought a tank may have been painted like. There were some cool real camouflage patterns for sure but since they weren't pseudo-standardized till the end of the war many real patterns were downright rough and ugly.

This is a butt ugly pattern but it's real-

I do like this classic large pattern on 312-

I am quite fond of this repaint at the Australian armor museum-

Something I don't like is the pattern lines emanating out from the center of the turret as many pre painted camo tanks are done. It's just not realistic.

This is all great information. I suspected that many of the “color palettes” were artists concepts. They do provide options, which leads me to think that I will just improvise!

I am going to do the logs. He is a pic of barrels stacked on the back plus a bunch of foliage and helmets strung along the turret and logs. Y’all think those are German or Soviet helmets?

I’m still looking for a pic with a KFC BUCKET.

German helmets for sure.
Looks like a Ferret Scout car placed into service.
The Tiger with the small fascines on each side is a nice Mid so pretty simple to convert an H/L .
Note the banned flag on the stowage bin for aerial recognition.

Kaiser Fried Chicken was a very limited edition back then !!

I figured that the KFC bucket was only awarded a very few times to special tank crews who reach a high level of chicken kills. Lol!

I like the idea of Soviet helmets with an “X” signifying a kill. Why not, huh?

I saw one pic with the balkenkruez flag. Any one know of a vendor who sells flexible 1/16 scale flags? I’ve only found the stiff cotton ones.

Another question, anyone running the blue or red HL motors. I’m getting a bit concerned with the weight and the standard motors I have. Now is the time to change if beneficial.
