Metal track kits for 1/35 Tiger, Chieftain, Crusader

Just got these delivered. I have a few 1/35 Tigers ands hope this kit fits one

I have not had a chance to check them out yet. I am not recommending them as I don't know enough about them yet. But the pins look easy to install and they are precut to length is what I know now.

These are very easy to assemble tracks but they seem to have some issues as an active tank or sprocket driven track applications
They work but seem to flop around more than normal. They fit the sprocket like in the picture in the ad when in a static state but as soon as the sprocket starts spinning it flops around on the sprocket more than it should. The ad says mid to late Tiger What does that mean? Are the sprockets different on the mid to late Tigers? If someone knows, please feel free to post info on this topic. Why would they make these for a rare mid to late production Tiger? I have three 1/35 Tigers and they all have the same sprockets and the tracks are interchangeable on them. 2 are Tamiya and the other is unknown. Its really to bad that there is a problem here as these are really nice tracks as far as materials and assembly are concerned but they don't seem to fit quite right on a active sprocket

Even with the "top of the sprocket lift issue", These are still better than stock poly tracks

The tracks are probably stiff and binding a little(as seen in the bottom photo) when they rise to go over the Sprocket. Some regular use or a little cleaning with dish soap and water may help. The Tiger 1 sprocket did not undergo any tooth modification through all the Series unlike the King Tigers.

in the top of the picture with the rise over the sprocket is because the teeth start to miss match the holes in the tracks link by a degree that they will never wear in. I have two other tanks with Friulmodel metal tracks and they fit perfectly with out this "track hop issue". It is an error in the design. The track just don't fit perfectly. The problem is less pronounced in reverse. Its like it fits until it gets halfway around the sprocket then it lifts due to teeth not lining with the track slots. I am disappointed but they do work with the proper amount of track tension At higher track speed the problem is less noticable but at low track speed you can clearly see that the track is doing something that it should not when engaging the sprocket. Kind af ruins the effect for me. Looks real good in a static state with the track sag. I have both sides on now and have tested it for about an hour and at medium and high speed the performance is adequate. These were shipped from New Jersey USA and are called to fit "mid to late Tiger" which may be a clue that they dont fit anything as well as they should. Others I see on ebay are from China and those ads say ""early, mid, late" tiger.'

Yes, I will let him know. I think this may be one of a prototype run that he is selling cheap just to get rid of them. On a static model the problem may not be noticed so they may still be a value to someone with a static model.

Well the engineers say they are indeed for static models When I leave feedback for this track kit I will note that in the review. If I had know that, I would not have bought them as I have active models. So these tracks ARE FOR STATIC MODELS

Hey, even in the 1/16 RC tanks, you'll find sprocket and track incompatibilities between manufacturers. Is it the Taigen KV-1 tracks that won't fit the HL sprocket teeth or something like that? There's others as well, so care needed when mixing and matching tracks and drive sprockets both OEM and aftermarket.

Fruil are in my (Limited) opinion the go to aftermarket metal tracks for 1/35, I replaced the plastic tracks on my Tamiya Panzer 4 with a set of Fruilmodels metal tracks years ago and they still work just fine.
I was looking at the price of a set of printed tracks for a Tiger 1 in 1/16 on the BMA website and at £233 a set Frankly it made me wonder how anyone can afford to build Tanks in that scale at such prices.

Oh certainly Mike I get lucky sometimes like when a set of Friul Crusader tracks fit perfectly on an Italeri 1/35 Crusader. It is my metal track masterpiece (not to be confused with a metal track messterpiece)
