HL Tiger
Re: HL Tiger
I used the same detail kit you have. I like some occasional “off the wall” detailing and I made one or two smoke dischargers as if the smoke grenades have been launched leaving an empty tube and the cap off. One of my launcher tubes suffered battle damage and is hanging by a wire. Have fun with your build! I’ll be following as these are my favorite threads.
Re: HL Tiger
I have the same detail kit and love it. I like to model some battle damage and other seldom modeled details so this kit allows for some fun modifications. Have fun and keep us posted.

Ooooooh a New Tiger guy
I like the work you're doing here. So many details and ways to improve the Heng Long offering and make it yours.
I'm definitely watching this. Do your Tiger brothers proud now. Funny how you snuck in under the radar.

A few pics of dry fitting some of the metal pieces to keep yall interested.
A few changes since I took those photos…
1. Im switching out the smoke grenades per the my previous post.
2. I’ve switched out the square hatch on the turret with a more detailed one. You can see the one in the pic doesn’t have the closer wheel or molded latches, I found the more detailed one after the fact.
3. I’ve switched out the two feint hatches on the hull. Same reason as the number 2 point.
4. I ended up removing the plastic lights. I got metal replacements.
I’m not going to put the latches on the jack as some people have done.
I still need to fabricate a disk for the starter cover. You see in the pic I dremeled it off, I did it because I swear I saw a metal replacement. I’ve searched and searched and could not find it again. I could have been smoking something??? If anyone can confirm what I think I saw I’d appreciate it.

Like ECAM, I am far from a lover of the Tiger. Unlike Mr Chef, who will be all over this like a rash on a Turkish wrestler’s groin. I do, however, very much appreciate, and admire the skill and work you are putting into reviving this old beast.

Re: HL Tiger
Good Morning,
The metal cover that you are looking for is a Mato manufactured aftermarket part. It has been a while since I have seen one myself. Try out the MATO website.

Couldn’t find it. They must have stopped making it. I have a backup plan - I got the brass cover for the rear engine hatch…I’ll have drimmel it to size. The other idea is to use a washer. Every other hatch is covered (meaning metal made)…just not that one. Odd. Oh well.
Re: HL Tiger
My other project…
I’m working with a 3D printer company off Etsy to scale up the 1/35 HF.7 Stahlfeldwagen model to “rc it”. The scale will be 1/16. I bought the plastic kit that they will use for imaging purposes. The trick will be designing it so it will incorporate an rc vehicle chassis.
There is a horse issue too. Cant make rc horses. My idea is to use finger skateboards trucks and wheel. I’ll attach those to the horses hooves.
I found 1/16 horse on eBay, eBay had a wagon horse team in 1/16….but I tossed those horses in favor of the ones shown and kept the wagon harness gear.
I found an inexpensive rc vehicle…D12 mini truck. Stripped off the upper. Will have to separate the chassis and relocate the electrical components. The 3D company will help with that too. The D12 is pretty fast. Great drifting car. I guess my 1/16 HF.7 Stahlfeldwagen will be the fastest horse drawn cart on the planet.

Ha!

I like your creativity! Those horses look amazing, can't wait for more on this subject too!
