QUICKY BUILD STATIC KUBELWAGON
Ages ago I was given an old & partially built resin Kirin Kubelwagon.
Now Im in between major projects & looking to paint a load of figures I thought perhaps I could mine-out the Kirin & assemble & paint it.
For nothing else other than to see it finished, and be a nice accessory for the rest of the collection.
Oh well, here goes....................

Nice. Have fun building it. Kirin went out of business a long time ago. I have a few small bits like the Mk19 grenade launcher and the Dragon ATGM from Kirin.

Put the Kübel back onto the shelf and show us your figure painting skills Mr.B
Curious which fellows you‘ve got!
Good luck anyway.

Re: QUICKY BUILD STATIC KUBELWAGON
The brittle nature of the previous attempts to join the chassis failed.
So I’m now drilling holes for brass tube (that’s toob to you left hand drivers!!) to strengthen each joint.
It may be only destined to sit but I want it to at least be a bit robust .

Re: QUICKY BUILD STATIC KUBELWAGON
Look forward to seeing it progress Mr Bix, I like me a kubelwagen
the tamiya rc version is getting quite rare to find these days and the electronics are not quite up to modern standards anyway, I removed the non proportional steering box out of mine and replaced it with a servo and put a new mini esc in also while I was at it.
You could always rc a static tamiya kit which is what I did for my second kubel, it runs just as good as the proper rc version.
Cheers, Lee

I did the same with a nice verlinden 1/15 super scale willys jeep that I had a few years back, I sold it on then replaced it with 2 rc jeeps from WCP modelsI will push on with this thing but Jeez should've sold it on for a collector & used the funds to get an RC runner

Cheers, Lee

Me ? Addicted ? Never !!

Re: QUICKY BUILD STATIC KUBELWAGON
Doesnt look to be an easy build but it's going pay off once finished !
Re: QUICKY BUILD STATIC KUBELWAGON
Can’t wait to see your magic applied to this. Would be fun to make it RC. I need to take mine for a drive soon. So much hobby, so little time.

Re: QUICKY BUILD STATIC KUBELWAGON
Well its looking like a KW now at least.
Lots of drilling holes & inserting brass rod to assist in assembly.
Thinking I might go early grey with a messy whitewash & muddy lower, to hide the evidence of creative construction

Herman!
Great job, Sir. Resin is tricky to build with , air bubbles, fragility, etc. As the General would have said, "This looks like some solid resin." I built that Field gun to tow with the Soviet Lend Lease Truck so I know summat of what it is taking to produce a Superior Result like this!
