To be honest, the club info side is mostly done on a Facebook page thingo. Had a bit of bother with past members apparently.
I'm not really up on it.

There is a Queensland Hobby Expo on end of August, so more pics I hope.

G’day mate, not really.
The founder passed away almost 2 years ago but we do attend shows or special events at times.
I note you are in Brisbane so you might be able to boost the numbers when we go out next.

Hi Herman, I have just seen your post regarding the passing of the Clubs Founder Ken, which is terrible news. How is Lana these days?

I started up a club just before Covid hit and things just went downhill after that. I have just had eye surgery a fortnight ago for one of my cataracts and with just done it is amazing what that has done. It has re sparked my interest in RC Tanking.

My younger brother passed away suddenly 22nd December 2020, and I inherited his Tamiya M1A2 Abrams that he had started to build. So now I have a 2nd Abrams, and it is getting done in Australian ADF colours and markings thanks to Mark from Oz Armour.

I have been looking at the new Heng Long Tanks for sale online and have watched numerous videos on different Heng Long Tanks on You Tube. I have to say they Heng Long have come a long way since 2011 when I got my 1st tank a Heng Long Tiger 1.

The technology in the new TK7.0/7.1 is streets ahead of the TX18 board that's in my Heng Long KT with I.R. I would like to get the newish Heng Long IDF Merkava MKIV Professional as that tank does have a lot of detail.

Anyway, I would like to ask if there was any chance of the NBRCTC starting up more meetings as my wife and I haven't been able to travel out much seeing I am the only driver. My wife still has her own Tamiya Tiger 1 Afrika Korps that I built for her.

This Covid pandemic has destroyed a lot of lives. It is about time we started to enjoy life once again, don't you agree?

When I saw you pop back in I thought the same thing.

Lana has moved on, and good on her too.
Im keen to get something going, as would be a mate that has the market cornered in RC tanks !
Send me a PM & we can get a plan.

Great to see you back ;)

Welcome back to the fold. The newer version 6 and version 7 tanks can now take/give IR hits to Tamiya tanks unlike that old TX18 which only played with other HL tanks. Of course the HL doesn't mimic the entire Tamiya battle system, but at least they can play with each other somewhat.

Hi Derek, I have a Heng Long King Tiger I.R that has a board in it made by Kevin from RS Tanks Australia that allows it to battle Tamiya Tanks. I have had this setup in that HL King Tiger for quite a number of years now.

Besides finishing off my second Tamiya M1A2 Abrams I want to get one of the new Heng Long IDF Merkava MIV Professional Edition, or another M1A2 Abrams Custom Metal with 360 Turret and Metal Tracks with the Rubber Pads. I don't know why the Professional Edition Abrams have solid Metal Tracks when in reality they have Rubber Pads.
I am leaning more to the Merkava.

Not as a club mate, no.
Still a couple of us that do the occasional show like QMHE but nothing regular.
This long weekend I am getting with one of the true believers & discussing this so who know what might come of it.
A secure regular venue is the biggest barrier but even a gathering at home is better than not at all.
I’m in the Goldy, my mates in Chermside, you and Kingtigerman are Northside so a middle ground would be ideal .
I’ve even considered approaching the Fort Lytton minders to see if anything can be done there.

Herman, I do like the idea of Fort Lytton if it could happen.

I have been living down at Browns Plains for almost 3 years now and I would like to get the club that I formed up and running, that is if everyone is in agreeance with that idea.

That name is: "Southeast Queensland Armoured RC Club", failing that we could ask Lana if we could use the "North Brisbane RC Tank Club" name.

Cheers
