All my electronics fails 😢

Post by dane61 »

After a pause since Covid, I tried to start up my tank fleet today. All my 1 gen. Taigen boards failed in elevation and gun firing/recoil. My open Panzer failed elevation and recoil, and shutting off ( battery good)
Anybody experiensed the same?

Since 2017, I have been changing out earlier Taigen MFUs for the later ones with the sound boxes. But each time I have tested all the functions before removing the older Taigen boards and I have not had this problem. (Of course, HengLong 6.0, 7.0 and 7.1 boards offer much better control. Just today I tried a HengLong M4A3 with 6.0: oooh! Does that thing run slowly and smoothly. I love it!)

Interesting dane61. I pulled two HL jagdpanther and a KV-1 out of a 5 year slumber and in each one the elevation wasn't working and in the KV1 the turret rotation and recoil as well. These were all old RX18 boards. But, after removing the elevation units and giving them a cleaning, they all became operable. Ditto the KV1 rotation unit. The grease wasn't congealed, but something I jiggled around worked. You would think if your boards were bad, the failed operations wouldn't be so consistent. I'd try some cleaning.
Movement forward and reverse, left and right ok?

Hi,
Its a common occurance the factory lubricant used looses its viscosity with age and lack of use, as mentioned above a good cleaning out and a light oil usually fixes the issue.
