Home stretch!!!

But alas 3 steps forward, 2 steps back... Got everything wired up like spaghetti guts just to mock it up and sizzle sizzle, smoke, crossed a wire somehow and looks like at least I fried the board... :O :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

at least I have an extra board so I hope that's all that it is... Oh well lesson learned I gotta be more mindful of wires and electricity :wtf: :poop: >:< >:< >:<

anyway:

That's one Mean looking Tiger! I do like how it's coming out.

"Got everything wired up like spaghetti guts just to mock it up and sizzle sizzle, smoke, crossed a wire somehow": MrChef, my sympathy... The HengLong 7.0 will give you better control and adequate sound. Of course, there is always the original Taigen/Torro board, which should have come with the Hochleistung 210 sound. ;)

The TK7.0 It's infinitely better than the Taigen MFU in all aspects except the sound. Luckily I have a spare HL board with Tiger sounds that I'll mess with later to see what's kaput.

Now, The HL210 was the early version and being that my Tiger is a late that wouldn't fit. And if the sounds recorded were from Tiger 131 IIRC it has been replaced with a HL230 from a donor King Tiger, so there's that.

I have not paid careful attention to the Tiger I books I have. I had it backwards, as I read somewhere that the iron block Maybach HL230 P45 was a reliability problem, leading to a change back to the aluminum block Maybach HL210 P45, a reduction in power. Apparently it is the other way--and more logical way--around, the HL230 being fit to the Tiger I adding weight, but also power.

IIRC the HL230 increased bore which produced 50 more horsepower but was minimally less efficient. But I also think I remember that they had a governor on the engine but I'm not positive about that.

So after testing the 7.0 board that I thought I fried it turns out that I actually only fried the electronics in the battery. So there's $57 down the drain. I have no idea if there's a way or does anyone fix the electronics in these batteries? The battery itself was 8 months old with maybe 5 cycles on it and has always been balance charged.

It's my favorite new to me gimmick. I have no use for BB's anymore and a veritable lifetime supply of the little yellow buggers.

I picked up 2 more recoil units from motion for $16 last month. Just noticed they went up to $29 the other day :wtf:

Servos aren't far down the road methinks.
