Mato Stug III on sale Convince me!!!

Recently I bought a StuG-III from Ali, which did cost me €129, shipping included!
Over here in the Netherlands it would have cost me €239.
For that amount, it gives plenty of opportunities to make a nice one out of it, if you‘re up to upgrading with metal parts.
I will upgrade it with metal sprocket and idler wheels with Winterketten.
Also I am going to reposition the 3 support rollers on each side.

Well after wasting my time trying to get a good deal bidding on a Pro/Metal Heng Long Stug on Ebay I went straight to the source and just messaged Toucan RC direct with a price for the same Stug they wouldn't budge with on Ebay.

It was listed on Ebay for $233. including shipping, lowest they would go after 4 attempts was $230 but Ebay also charges tax which would have been about $15 sooo $245.

So I contacted ToucanRC direct, they came to a deal of $215 all-in, including shipping.








For reference MotionRC just got them back in stock for $199 including shipping but they don't have the metal road wheels and return rollers which vary on the market for about $55-$75 Taigen are cheaper...

Be prepared for the sound to be Abrams !!
It’s a thing with the Stugs for some reason, they all seem to come out with odd sounds!!

Maybe they’ve sorted it out , we’ll all soon know eh !

Soon enough. Luckily I have a spare Tiger 7.0 board. Well not really a spare, I burned out one of the plugs #3 or #4, I don't remember which when I was experimenting with the Asiatam recoil project. Should be perfect since all it needs is gun elevation.

Well, maybe I have been lucky but my new, cheap StuG has the red cable on the mainboard, so it came with the Tiger sound.

Down here the V7 StuGs have odd boards.
Perhaps it was only until they ran out of old stock, then the more recent ones are correct

to mix it all up a bit more it has been shown that the color, black or red antenna isn't the 100% accurate way to know what sounds the dastardly TK7.0 contains. more of an urban legend.

Aliexpress vendors are pretty explicit about the colours now.

back when I got my Panther I investigated this here on RCTW because the color of my antenna didn't coincide withe soundset. Maybe just mine was the anomaly?
