just wanted to ask is the Bristol Armoured Division still active guys? only reason i ask is a good friend of mine Ray belongs to a scale rc club that neets monthly etc he mentioned he had a meeting at swindon? i think he said this coming saturday which involves a tank ir battle area etc never been to one so am interested in coming along not sure if my Hl ir is compatible with other battle units but would be great to see a tank area layout

Yes, HL sure has come up in the world. The 6.0 and up boards offer so much better control. I've basically decided they meet my needs and desires for tanking, and have given up on the aftermarket stuff. Plus I'm a bit of a budget conscious rc tanker--oxymoron alert!

thanks mike yes totally agree on how much theyve improved the electrics etc only on planning on changing the plastic gearboxes to metal ones at this piont as i noticed some clicking in the long grass etc not that worried as the metal road wheels and metal tracks with the weight but like you said it will get addictive haha

If after the clicking noise the tank will still work good at light loads, then the noise is probably coming from the clutch in the transmission. Each side has one at the first nylon gear (driven by the electric motor). Many members pull the trans apart and epoxy (or similar) the the moving parts in the clutch.

Most of my tanks use the plastic (nylon) gears only a few have metal and a couple of those are the lesser "pot" metal gears. I don't run them too hard but I have had no issues with any of the gears so far.

I'd suggest fix the clutches and replace to metal if you manage to damage the plastics.
