Hello from the UK
Hello from the UK
Hi, I am Jez. I have been more into r/c aircraft in the past but nothing major, just taught myself to fly,not really into clubs. For some reason I have begun to get a fascination with tanks, particularly the WW1 variety and an obsession with the MK iv British heavy tank. I've started counting rivets which is a bit worrying
! I want to build 1: 12 scale model of the same and have started to draw up the project and working out how to approach this endeavour. I am starting with the tracks because this is going to be the hardest to build at scale and those blessed rivets. Its going to take while so don't hold your breath. Joined to get a bit inspiration and ideas. Thanks for having me.

Re: Hello from the UK
Welcome. There are several Mark IV British tanks being designed for 3D printing at the moment for 1/16 scale. One of them is being released on Feb 16th. It could probably be upscaled to 1/12. Just in case you don't want to do all the work yourself. Not my tanks or my site, but I have printed a bunch of them: https://rc3dtanks.site/

Here is one example of a build thread for the WWI MK IV. 16th scale in this case and printed, it is under construction by one of our members (Alwyn Turner) and his builds are fun to follow. It seams as though some of the pictures are unavailable, but I'd guess that is a temporary thing. Have a look and get inspired: viewtopic.php?t=36389&hilit=mk+IV+WWI

Welcome to the forum Jez. There's definitely enough inspiration and knowledge here to go around. And be sure to share pics when the project gets going.
