Tamiya Tank Spares.

Post by jarndice »

I have just discovered that "WHEELSPIN MODELS & HOBBIES" have pages of Tamiya Tank spare parts on their website and being Based in the UK postage will be bearable just for starters,
How long has this company who I have bought products from had access to Tamiya parts ?
And am I the only one who did not know :eh:
Of course it may be all 1/35 and not 1/16 but it has to be worth a look.
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

Yes. I have used them. With mixed results. I found them by error, about 18months ago. I placed an order for two parts for my Tiger 1. They do take your money first, and return it after 6months, if they are unable to find the parts. One part seems to be unavailable, and the second part arrived after about 14 months. They do not communicate the status of the parts situation. I was not informed about the part that did arrive. It just turned up.

I would air on the side of caution ⚠️ also jarndice, I bought an rc plane from them back in 2021 which had got lost within the courier service so I contacted them by email and the reply that I got was ( buy another one and if the missing one is returned back to us we'll refund you :wtf: ) I'm not saying that it is their fault the item got lost but it annoyed me for them to expect me to cough up over £200 again for something that I'd already paid for  anyway, after a few heated emails they eventually posted out another one which did turn up but I can't say that I had the best experience with them

Cheers.

I checked out the site and besides the usual " in stock" and "out of stock", they also listed items as "shadow stock". Huh? Does that mean 1 or 2 left, or we'll say we've got it but we need to find it from a supplier somewhere? Might explain the 14 month wait!

Wheelspin have a central warehouse quite seperate from their business site which means any order from "Shadow Stock" will be delayed by a week or so.

I have never had a problem with Wheelspin Models.

I have purchased both slot cars and Tamiya parts, along with other things multiple times.
Always a quick service. As for "shadow stock, " that is usually in a stock holding warehouse. And I have only endured a few extra days wait at maximum.

The only let down with Tamiya spares, they don't have many types on sale, and what they do have is hardly ever in stock, you have to regularly take a look.
