More Tigers, but from Maryland

Hello!!

My name is Casey. I'm a commercial fisherman from Maryland. I've always been into military history. These last few years doing a deep dive into WWII and started collecting some militaria. I'm relatively new to the Rc world. Started out with the cheap warbirds had a few and destroyed them. About a year ago got my first tank, Tiger 1 S33 by Heng long. Then I needed another one so my boy and I could battle. So, I got the Abrams by HL. At that point I joined a Facebook group and it's been downhill from there.

Now the fleet consists of 2 tiger 1s, 1 Jagdtiger, and the king M1A1 Abrams. Ive always been handy, and like to tinker with things. Thats when the mods started on S33. At the beginning historical accuracy was not what I was going for. I was just upgrading the cheap tank with the better stuff. Then I wanted to make an accurate camo scheme. Then the research started, Thats where it really went off the hinges. I was goin to make this S33 for real. I wasn't even sure it was going to be S33 I was going to be slick and number it another number from the tanks career. Then made a mistake. I had some pre-cut zimmerit on the shelf and just couldn't help myself. I applied it. Now it can't be any of those because S33 didn't have Zimmerit. I do not want to remove it.

Anyhow, When I posted the Zimmerit pics on Facebook I got a direct link to Mrchef's 822 build (first class work). Ive been hooked on this forum since. The craftmanship and attention to detail on here is amazing! It really seems like a great community to be a part of with a lot of talented people here. I had a little trouble registering from my phone before but wanted to get it on here and post a build. Now I've decided to make my HL into tiger 217 and build it the best I can. we will see how it goes. I'm looking forward to the learning experience and your input!

Hello and welcome from Argyll and Bute. This is a comprehensive introduction. I saw your build over on FB earlier. I now see that Mr Chef has lured you over to the dark side. I am sure he will be along to welcome you. My own interests are Cold War, and Modern Tank, and Tigers are my least favourite tanks, but I can appreciate the reason why so many people are interested in them, having built two.

Hahaha Yes he showed me a little while ago but I didn't get a good look around the direct link got me and then I found the jagdtigers and all the reference material... done for. I like the British tiger concept and appreciate your families service! My HL was almost a polish captured tiger. Thanks for the welcome!

Yes the Jagdtiger is the most able rig in my stable. Best in the snow and over difficult terrian. I broke it. It's broken now, but torro is sending me the parts to repair it. The swing arm on the idler. Mine is 100% factory for now. I'll attach some pics of the fleet.

As I really am a Chef and so appreciate where all of my raw products and ingredients come from. We can talk fish now and mystify people with soft shell crabs. There's actually a food post or two floating around here somewhere.

Glad you made it. You're in the right place. Great community of friendly, helpful, talented and knowledgeable people here. And of course excellent resource of information to dive into.

Oh yeah! Not only that! I'm a licensed seafood shipper through the health dept. I can legally ship my product anywhere. It's a pain but essential some times. I catch clams and oysters. Razor clams in the summer our crabbers use them for bait. I usually oyster or catch many names soft shell, mano, piss clams in the winter. idk what you call them up there. When I first had my own boat we shipped a load of soft shell mano clams to boston. Right now I'm not catching shit building a new clam rig.... and a tiger tank hahahahaha
