I used to be down there once a week. Had to drive the long way as company wouldn't pay for ferry.

Had to cut off at Strachur and go down to Colintraive(sp? It's been a while) too.

Gave up on this for the moment, faffing about doing laser blocker bits.

I think when I get the motivation, i'll try another dusting of varnish or two. In different conditions/location... in the loft with heating on.

I hope it blends with the original coats and takes out the white.

I did see a guy on the vid place using a heat gun to remove milky in lacquer. But that would have been automotive paint. And although he was working on a bumper, i'm not sure how fine the heat window is on these tanks.

@ Pavel... yes, it makes a big difference with them filled in, or recessed and bottomed...

At some point in the futute. If/when I get an air brush, and skill to do a full respray. I will do that, and add the extra armour too.

I was wary about trying to strip that varnish off. This has been like sprayed from factory. So it would have ended up blotchy I suspect. Needing a total surface stripping. That's a plan for the future.

I sprayed another coat, and it's took a good bit of the milkyness out. But, it may not be as matt as I hoped for, and almost too dark for desert now.

(If you look at the mudflap with registration no. you'll see where gently rubbing with IPA wipe was lifting the factory paint too)

Home made brace about ready to fit. Will need to check it doesn't foul the turret's movement... obviously.

Looking at the quality of that brace, we dont have a section for marvels of hull reinforcement!!

That hull brace is definitely required in tanks with long hills. It is exceptionally well made. Unlike mine.

I didn’t strengthen the case, I think it’s unnecessary work, I’ve been using it for quite a long time and there were no problems...

I'll attack the front lights with a dremel soon . Ideally i'd like to make/buy cages/grilles for them too.


And where the h*ll does stuff wander off to. I have been careful (although, apparently not careful enough). Yet I have still managed to lose an idler screw, and track link pin... .

I guess going back and forth on three tanks at once is not a good idea.

My theory is... the cats have moved/srolen the missing parts... .
