UK Source of 1/16 Tank spare parts ?

Post by OldTanker »

Does anyone know of a UK based supplier of Heng Long/Taigen plastic spare parts that might stock the Tiger 1 air intake and hoses ?

The secondhand Taigen Tiger 1 that I rebuilt was missing these parts. The air cleaners on the back were there, but the hoses, one deck clamp and the intake fitting were missing. I could adapt something for the hoses, but I don't have a 3d printer, so that part has me stumped.

The only supplier I've found online so far is heng-long-panzer.de, but the cost even before postage is already above 30 euros,so it seems quite disproportionate compared to the cost of the whole tank !

Here's a photo of the missing parts, (minus the shovel, which I do have). :)

Wow.... thanks everyone for the rapid replies.
I thought I'd made a fairly extensive search for UK base Model Tank spares, but I hadn't found ForgeBearTanks.
I've had a quick zoom through the 4 Tiger 1 pages and there are several bits I'll order, but so far no luck with the air filter intake plastic molding, though they do have nice braided hoses.
I'm thinking I may now fashion something out of wood,as it's a fairly simple 3d shape.

You have not grasped the main reason everyone said www.forgebeartanks.com,
It is the sheer helpfulness of the website.
You can talk to Dave and Julie and if they do not have what you want they will try very hard to find someone who does

Yes, that's par for the course for me Jarndice, slow to grasp things...

I'll send them an email,as you suggest.

I forgot to mention, the only other supplier that had them in stock, heng-long-panzer.de, was no solution for me even apart from the price, when I tried to check the cost of postage from Germany to the UK, they said that they could not send any consignments of less than 170 Euros for tax reasons !
