Opps. I did it again.

A rather large box arrived, from Bury, home of the best black pudding ever. Curtesy of Zooma of this parish. Well packaged, and survived the post office delivery service.

My excitement, was not quite as palpable is the first time. As I knew what was in this. Unlike the first time, when it was an unexpected Christmas present, from my now wife, who bought one for our first Christmas together.
On opening said package, and original box was with in.

Complete with original instructions, in better condition than mine, and a very nicely photocopied version.

I am now the owner of another Tamiya Leopard 1A4. It has suffered a bit, and is a little bit bedraggled, with some missing parts, but nothing to worry about, and nothing that a bit of scratch building, a few emails to Ludwig’s, a few parts from the other one, and some modern radio gear, will put it back in working order.

A second parcel also arrived,

which has nothing to do with tanks, but may, or may not, help find solutions. It may also confuse our own HDP.

Oh, yes! You are all set, Ian! I know you are well qualified to work miracles with the Tamiya Leopard A4 and you are supplied to relax when those inevitable frustrations arise. If it's not too personal, how long ago did you marry this fine lady who is so kind to find you a Leopard and support your hobby? But then, you have been know to be quite supportive of others, too. Then, too, I hope that little niece is doing well.

No parting of this one. It will be reworked to be a runner.

HDP. Not at all personal. We moved in together in 1990. We married in 2003. We used to have a model shop in Nottingham called Beatties (Sadly long gone) I had seen the original Leopard in there. As I expressed an interest, it arrived in the Christmas of 1990. It wasn’t a hobby back then. More interested in Climbing, sailing, motorbikes, and Land Rovers.
Support is possibly the wrong word. She now just wonders off, rolling her eyes, and shaking her head.
I’ve started helping owners of Tiger. 🤣🤣🤣
My niece is doing well, thank you. Born 3month prematurely. Since her visit she is now crawling.

Mr Rat, we can finally agree about a culinary delight being a delight. I have had the fortune to purchase said black pudding direct from the manufacturer at their Bury market stall

As for the two purchased items. Good find with the leopard, especially as they aren't so common.

And now I am confused that a haggis loving Scot purchased English whisky, gosh, it must be good....

We have found common ground. Bury black pudding is, I’m afraid only second best to George Stafford black pudding. As for the whisky purchase, I may have a few shares, and a barrel from them tucked away for a rainy day. In 6years time, when it will be bottled. Apparently there are 20 English distilleries. Not keen on Welsh whisky.
