Tonight's meal--Venison Wellington. First time making it and quite pleased with the results. Gordon Ramsay's recipe so I felt like I was being sworn at the whole time. I'm not accomplished enough to make my own puff pastry but the store stuff you roll out worked really well. Labour intensive!

Ooooh! Looks good. Just needs some ground pepper and a shot of whiskey on the side!
Seriously, that looks delicious.

Thanks Jim. Pepper mill was ready, willing, and able! My wife and I had a peppery red wine with it, my son went with a stout from a local brewery. We saved the Rideau Whisky from our town's distillery for dessert.

Mike, that wellington looks gorgeous. Is there space at your house? I’ll bring the whisky, and haggis for starters.

Thank you, Sir!
Whisky and haggis are always welcome here Mr. M Rat! Typically, all of the whisky before the haggis! Kidding, I've had some very good haggis over the years.
