Thanks for the welcome and advice. Sorry for the delay in my reply but 3 visits to hospital for my wife this week has been a bit distracting for me!

Re my Challenger - I’ve managed to sort out the cutting out issues (looose wires) and, thanks to meter rats advice, have discovered my tracks are too loose. Unfortunately the tension cannot be adjusted so it. Looks like I need to remove a link or two. Before I commit to drifting them out with a spare pin is there anything I need to know? Is there a way of knowing which end to drift the pin out from? Thanks in advance. . Here’s a pic of mine.

Hi Andy, Welcome to the Forum
The track pin is fatter at one end so a gentle tap I SAID GENTLE against the track pin with a spare pin,
if nothing do not hit it harder but try the other side and finish the job by pulling out the now poking out pin with a pair of pliars.
Make sure that the Tank the tracks and the pins are secure throughout the job,
It is easy to be complacent and drop or lose stuff doing this "Simple " task.
PS you have to submit millions of texts before the Mods allow you to down load pictures.

He is well know for it, and has been offered counseling for the affliction, but chooses NOT to seek the help on offer.
I suspect it stems from the situation that he has not figured out how to change his smart phone from selfie to photo setting & he wishes to spare us delicate types the shock of a self image !!
Oh, and by the way, he seems to have a 'thing ' for stealing jacks off tanks so best not leave yours lying around unguarded
