My first post! Extra batteries.

Post by HSC3 »

My first post, thanks for having me! Wanted to ask does anybody know where to purchase extra batteries for the Stuart? Also, are there any other kind of batteries besides the stock ones that will work without damaging the tank? Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Welcome to the forum HSC3. I haven't bought the Stuart yet so I don't know specifically which battery it uses. Here is our Stuart section if you want to get some ideas. viewforum.php?f=170

We are not sure where in the world you are. If you have a hobby shop nearby they should stock a compatible battery. Otherwise there should be markings on the battery like NMH or LI-ion and the a capacity like 1200 mAh (could be more or less) and volt value 3.7v, 7.4v or similar. Armed with that a simple internet search should turn up what you are looking for.

Once you have those numbers and an idea of where you are, we should be able to point you in the right direction.

The battery supplied with the Coolbank Stuart is 1200 mAH (milliamp hour) Lithium Ion 7.4 volt. It looks like this:

Any 7.4 volt Lithium Ion battery that fits the size and has the correct connector, a SM 2P plug, will do. What looks like that exact same battery is on Amazon as the Croboll 1200 mAH LiIon 7.4 volt with SM 2P plug,

:) Hello, for the batteries and our passion, what counts is the voltage (Volts) which counts 7.4 volts, after this one has a capacity (Amperes) of 1200 Mha which is equivalent to 1.2 Ah for 1 hour..but in the same format? there are higher capacities 2000,2500,3000 Mah etc. What can possibly change? this is the type of cards!! in fact here, you have 3 wires, a plus (Red) and the Black (minus) the blue being? I suppose the wire for balancing when charging, if the little Chinese respect the standards?

example at Aliexpress 7.4 V for 5200 Mah, same voltage, same dimensions

Does the mating part of the connector have two wires?

I meant the part where this connector is inserted!
I understand that this is a balance connector, but the counterpart to the speed controller must have TWO wires to give 7.4 Volts....
The manufacturer saved on separate wires and a connector, for connection, decided to use a balance, Two wires on the edges give 7.4 Volts....

there is the same pack with Dean plug and balancing, which amounts to having 2 plus wires, 2 minus wires (parallel) on each and a common plus/minus of the connection of the 2 batteries. Our little Chinese can be found, more economical ?

afterwards there are many solutions, depending on the number of elements, and whether in series or parallel. On electric scooters, we have found packs of 36/48/63 volts, these are series / parallel assemblies and for intensities about ten amps

If you do switch to the lipo but keep the stock board I would advise an alarm that plugs into the balance port
It’s your tank it’s what you make it
