HL Tiger 1 converting to 7.0
HL Tiger 1 converting to 7.0
Hi,
New to the RC Tank game. Kids bought me a Tiger 1 about 7 or 8 years ago. The old RC system went bad about 4 years ago. Found a TK 7.0 upgrade kit to replace the bad one. There are no wiring diagrams other than a connector chart for the MFU. Question is does anyone have a working wiring diagram that details where the items connect and what the polarity is for each item?
Thanks!

Welcome to the group alex71360. Good of you to want to reinvigorate your older Tiger I. Where are you hailing from in the world? Is the Tiger your sole RC Tank?

Welcome Alex, and yes there are diagrams available. Many have been posted here before. Depends on what system you are replacing. Some of it may be compatible with the 7.0-7.1 versions. The motor leads are different but we should be able to walk you through it. The power switch has changed but that is simple too. Do you have a soldering iron?

Thanks for the welcome!
I am living in Stagecoach outside of Oak Creek Colorado. I have only the 1 old Tiger at this point, it had an RC system with a long wire for the original MFU. I think it might have been 27 or 49 MHz but not sure. I will have to find the box with the old parts. In the mean time I installed new all metal drive motors. I do have a soldering iron, DVM, variable power supplies and other test equipment. Any help with the wiring would be appreciated, I can read schematics for electronics so if there is a schematic for the 7.0 board that would be a big help. The turret wiring is the confusing part.
Thanks

A happy welcome to you, alex71360! I am thinking of converting a Taigen KV-2 to HL 7.0, so I will be watching as you do the swap. I can solder, but in old age, I generally hold wiring schematics upside down two inches from my nose. Oh, and a droplet of solder does make one jump, eh?

Start with this thread, it should provide the info you are looking for. Includes a schematic as I recall.

Turret wiring, Depends on what you are going after. I'm not a battler nor do I care for the air soft so most of my tanks have turret traverse and barrel elevation (two wires each). A few of mine have recoil and a couple have barrel flash or IR. The 7.0 & 7.1 HL systems have "bullet" connector for the outputs. I had to play with the combos a while until I got the tracks running in the right direction (no instructions or internet at the time). Read up and let us know what additional help you need.
That is a remote part of Colorado. Spent 30 years SW of Denver and covered most of the state Jeeping.

Hello, attached is the original Heng Long wiring diagram, and below in color, more recent wiring with the wire colors corresponding to the 8-pin, RX and Upper Chassis plugs. But have there been variations over the years? the best is to locate thread, by thread
