Re: Taigen Jagdpanther track tensioner issue
Cutting out that piece above the idlers is a good idea. My original Panther had endless idler/track issues and the same problem with the tracks rubbing. Everything is new now but I definitely will be watching out for that issue to return
Re: Taigen Jagdpanther track tensioner issue
I must be the only lucky guy that hasn't had any track issues with either my Panther or Jagdpanther.
I too made Schurzen for my Jagdpanther since I couldn't bear to pay what they were looking for with the kits available at the time. I made mine out of styrene sheet and rods. I made a simple way to secure them with rubber "O" gaskets which allows flexibility instead of breaking and can be popped on and off as will.

Re: Taigen Jagdpanther track tensioner issue
I have never had any running issues with my Tamiya Jagdpanther or Panther. It's the metal Taigen/Torros that are an ongoing nightmare. But they are great tanks when they run properly plus the Taigen Panther's detailing is fantastic. The Tamiya Panther while a great running tank requires the Aber kit as it is almost Heng Long devoid of any detail which is pathetic considering the price they charged

@ Mr.Chef:
On my Ausf.G & F I made nearly the same construction with the detachable Schürzen as you did.
I used metal wires which I did bend and glued into a hole in the L/shaped brackets.
The Schürzen are hanging on the wires and are secured by small rings which I did cut out of the cover of an electricity wire.
In my pics you might see those rings laying beside the detached Schürzen.
For me this was a cheap and workable solution back than.

Re: Taigen Jagdpanther track tensioner issue
Thanks everyone for the answers, I also reached out to Dominique at rctank for advice.
The issue really has always been the length of the idler arms. Dominique has some longer ones for the king tiger in stock
https://www.rctank.de/Replacement-axles ... ERSION-5mm
These look to me to be about 4 or tmm longer and should move the rear idler wheel lower, which will allow the tensioner to work, and still offer clearance at the hull. If it does work out I'll post some pics to help anyone else that encounters this.
Thanks
Dave
