Wow! Meter rat gets the "Honest Man"  award, for he makes a great argument here for a WWII choice. He's an expert on modern RC MBTs. Another possibility would be the T26 Pershing, a late war U.S. tank that could give the Tiger a bit of trouble (and visa-versa).

Google says....
I live near Hanover/Lower Saxony. I was born in 1943. I actually came across this site because of the pictures of tanks. I had visited the beaches of D-DAY in Normandy and that made me interested.

Meter rat wrote: Wed Oct 16, 2024 9:00 pm It pains me to say it, but get a Sherman. I have a dislike of any WW2 stuff, Tigers in particular, there are just too many of them. Mr Chef does seem to have most of them. Shermans are apparently good runners, and a Tiger (yet another) would look silly battling with Challenger or Merkava. The Challenger is definitely not an easy tank for a beginner (even though it is my favourite tank, which I have a love hate relationship) , and I have no experience with the Merkava.
Anyway welcome to the forum from a grumpy, whisky drinking old Scot from Argyll and Bute.
you must be psychic as well as grumpy as I have a Sherman on the way ....

And yet you have a couple of Tigers??? :headbang:  This poor chap is going to start to get the wrong impression of us silly old men and our chosen toys.

Not quite yet but an old boy can dream :D I'd probably have another right now but Mr. Bix shamed me into gettin an airbrush.

Tongue in cheek Mr. polish70 were all just having some fun at each others expense as the usual... Plenty of good natured ribbing and bone dry sarcastic humor to go around.

Having a couple of Tigers in the fleet is like trying your first pickled egg, or morris dancing. You have to try them, but don’t mean you need to carry on. :D

I do hope if one of our American members asks what Morris dancing is that you are prepared to explain it to them coz I reckon you would be on your own with that one :haha: :haha:
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:
