You are the wizard of such building, menright. I would think that driving the rear tracks only would make steering balky and put quite a load of resistance on the rear motors. Driving the front tracks only might be a better shortcut--although overcoming the resistance of moving the "dead" tracks, sprockets, idlers, and road wheels would still cause quite a load on front motors.
I know that model train electronics are designed to handle differential functions in coordinated units, as in the instance of a "lash-up" or Multi-Unit engine team. Perhaps the same could be done with Radio Control functions. Others may know how to use a transmitter (and MFUs) for coordinated action. Thanks for the advice. I was thinking that I would need to use four motors. Syncing the front and rear motors up would be easy, I have done it before in robot builds. Just wondering if I could use two rear motors and link the front and rear drive in some way but still keep the track units separate?
