This may be unnecessarily complicated, but for what it's worth: perhaps as you work on the Raspberry PI board for your model, you could post in the Electronics section. Then the 3D part could go in the 3D section. In your initial post in each section you could explain what your project will be and refer readers to the matching post in the other section.
Me? I am amazed at both your idea to create the electronics and to 3D print the model. But I could not find an Amazing Wizards section (though there are plenty such her on RCTW).
