Then, he brought it to me and requested me to upgrade the electronics and make it compatible with a his hobby grade radio, so I did this:
I had some fun working on it and there were several things to keep in mind. Even with hobby electronics, it was way too fast. I had to limit the top speed to a maximum of a 30% and still, it was faster than any of my vehicles.
Surprisingly, I never worked with the bread of gearboxes where one motor takes care of the driving and another of the steering until now, so I had some head scratching to fix the issue of reversed steering when going backwards, but nothing I couldn't fix just with the radio.
Besides that, not much more to mention besides the crew voice is my friend's original voice which we recorded.
It ended being a nice nimble little tank, it drives smoothly and the suspension works amazingly.
Now, it is my friend's time to finish building it and painting it, with my stencils.
