As I understand it, Model D began to be produced at the same time that yellow became the main color. but what if he was still gray?

I have never seen gray Ausf.D.
Anyway, it didn't stop me from making one.
But when a friend of mine, a restorer, saw it, of course he commented on it (he wasn't thrilled).

And what is the correct interior color scheme?
I looked at the pictures, and there's a lot of options.
Some are all ivory, some are just the dashboard, and some are just the crew compartment. What colors should I paint the benches, the floor?

:) Hello, personally I would say “White, or cream”? because once enclosed inside, it must have been quite dark? OK there were lamps!! As for the seats, it certainly wasn't a great luxury? Brown or Black? maybe? or directly sitting on the metal?
I look, if found, had an interior video of the Panther of Saumur (Musée des Blindés) if respected after restoration of the tank?

What are you talking about?
The Sd.Kfz. 251 has an open interior.

And certainly no one sat on metal, because the benches were wooden.
Some were leatherette.
No black color.

The inside was the same color as the outside.
Definitely not cream or white.

There were a number of different interior colours and some Hanomag 251s did have a roof usually camvas but sometimes permanent, 251s in service in North Africa would have a white interior whereas in Russia the paint would be darker
The area around the driver and radio operator is clearly painted in ochre the seats are sometimes made of wood slats and are in that colour or covered in cloth and are dark or sometimes brown leatherette, the instruments are black needles on a white background, all these colours are variable,
I cannot find a definative source and the photographs can be misleading,
Post war 251s are unlikely to be bearing the original colours and wartime pictures are rarely in colour.
My 251 is in Desert sand exterior with a matte white interior except in the drivers space which is ochre and the whole floor area is in red oxide this being standard German undercoat.
A spare wheel kit for the 1/16 Hanomag 251 is available. The forward MG armoured shield is easy to make out of 2 cut to shape pieces of 2mm Plasticard.
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:
