Hi all,

UK based. New to RC tanks, but some cars and model electronics in the past.

Looking for a winter project on the 3D printer and currently considering 1/10 scale, but have been reading the debates of this scale with interest.

Choice of tank, currently considering Churchill Mk VII, Panzer III or Panzer IV. (Although the Stridsvagn 103 is very tempting, purely because of the adjustable suspension design!)

Hmm, it's not tracked, but the Puma looks like it could be an interesting build?

I own the 1/10th Puma files, but haven't really looked into what it would take to build. I mostly buy the 1/10th files so I can upscale them to 1/6th. I would be an interesting project in either scale. I don't know of any Churchill files in 1/10th specifically. There are some 1/10th Stug files that are known to be a little oversized for the sale which may mean the PZ3 is also, but I don't remember which vendor it was as I think there are several.

I was thinking of designing from scratch, and was going to see what was available as blueprints or detailed diagrams. However if there are existing CAD files, that could be a good place to start.

I'm not committed to 1/10, but from the videos I've seen it looks like a nice compromise of getting the larger size whilst still being storable. With so much available for 1/16 and 1/6, I'm not sure whether 1/10 puts it in an awkward place for motor/ battery availability.
