Trekking down a gravel road through the woods this evening with my wife and we stumbled across this beautiful Timber Rattlesnake! It was quite large and definitely wanted to avoid contact which was fine with us! Gotta watch where you step here in Southern Illinois.

Re: Snake Season
Beautiful snake! Sadly, gone from Ontario. Last one seen in the 1940's.Jimster wrote: ↑Fri Aug 09, 2024 4:28 am Trekking down a gravel road through the woods this evening with my wife and we stumbled across this beautiful Timber Rattlesnake! Re: Snake Season
First our new neighbour who bought the land across our house mentioned that there should be many snakes around here (we never saw one before). Then the dogs got crazy in the field next to our house and I checked it out. turned out to be a nice snake. Seems there ar eplenty overhere, so every time I will go for will go for a walk in the field, I really look now where I put my feetJimster wrote: ↑Fri Aug 09, 2024 4:28 am Trekking down a gravel road through the woods this evening with my wife and we stumbled across this beautiful Timber Rattlesnake! They are so well camouflaged. I think the Germans learned from them.
