1/16 StuG III Ausf. B

Post by awoychosky123 »

Hey Everyone!

It's been a while for me. Some of you might recall a few years back I was planning on doing a StuG III Ausf. C/D build. Well I was never super happy with the Profiline kit I got from asiatam. It was missing numerous parts, quality was hit or miss, plus I was dreading redoing fenders for it because of all the molded on tools. It was pretty much ready for paint when I decided to salvage the chassis for a Ausf. B build instead. This time I designed most of the kit myself and 3d printed it in resin. Here is the end results of months of work. It is powered by an Elmod FusionX. The Tracks are Type 5B which I realize might be inaccurate for early war stugs but it is what I used for my 1/35th Tamiya one I made years ago, plus its my favorite track style. Fenders, antenna, and hatches all work. Rear idler is the correct 47mm diameter. All insignias are painted on. Next project is a Tamiya M1A2 that I will be converting to a SEP Tusk. Feel free to ask questions, I will answer them best as I can.

Nothing happens when I click. And if it would work, the 'spoiler' function is very annoying. Just show us the goodies, if you click on this thread you want to see it anyway! :-)

Edit: And YES I do want to see it very much! ;D
1:16 was my scale. Until 'Konan' came into my life... an Armortek 1:6 Tiger 1!

The Spoiler feature doesnt seem to work for me, if anyone else has issues with it I will remove them from the original post. There are just a lot of photos.

Edit: Spoiler tags removed.

Same here, the links don't work, but I'd love to see what you are attempting to show us!

Very nice job! Love the details like the rifling!

Personally I would to to see what looks like with one or two tracks less on the front, but that's personal preference I guess.

Thank you, I almost didn't do the front track stowage but I decided that my 1/35 had them so I should, I counted the links from a photo I found of a Ausf. B with the tracks pinned between the tow hooks. It was 15 links. Good thing is the pins can be removed from the tow hooks and I can remove the tracks from it.

WOW! Nice work.

I was working on reducing a 1/10 scale Stug to 1/16 to fit on the Taigen lower. The project has been benched for a while. I saw a 1/35 DML Stug C/D at the Local Hobby shop today and had to buy it. Been looking at info on the Stugs since I got home. Now I see this...Simply magical LOL
