M1A2 Tusk I window placement

Post by Jib »

Hey I’m putting together a HL Abrams with the Tusk I kit, Trophy APS, and also hopefully a motorized CROWS.

I got a Tusk I kit off of RCTank.de, but I’m having a hard time deciding on what to keep and where to put it. The biggest issue I’m facing now is which ballistic window frames and screens go where, and what makes sense when you have CROWS and APS on it. There’s also a kind of guard that I think goes around the gunners cupola?

I’m having a hard time finding images online and although I ordered the Haynes M1 manual, I think it may have gotten lost in the mail.

Also, if anyone has a lead on a 1/16 of the newer model of air conditioning unit from what comes standard with the HL and Tamiya, let me know. I don’t really want to buy a $200 Trumpeter model just for a hand full of parts.

Here is a link to the kit https://www.rctank.de/Abrams-M1A2-Tusk- ... ot-painted

Greetings Jib,

Here is the link to my M1A1 with TUSK 1. I'm not sure exactly what my be of use.
The first part is about beefing up the HL lower and motor change.

Thanks for this! I have been combing through it today. I haven’t found what I was looking for but I have found some other ideas there I might try to implement, particularly moving the pivot point of the gun up and the Airsoft mechanism back so I can get more elevation. Right now I get maybe like +10 or so because the Airsoft mechanism bumps up against the turret ring.

I’ll keep digging and see what else I can find!

Again, thanks for pointing this out to me.
