another old new member

Post by the_asylum_wanderer »

Hello everyone, Some of you will have seen my posts in another section of this forum , and i know there are a few members that know me quite well, including Rivet, Robert and some of the midlands group that i met over last weekend at the Cricklade show .
My interest in afv,s goes back a long way haveing grown up as a child in the village of Salcombe in Devon ( yes , Slapton is just down the road )
Over the years ive had the usual progression of tanks mostly tamiya , and bandai.
A few years ago i was fortunate enough to aquire a 1/8th Jagdpanther and a 1/8th Panther. These were used and displayed on a regular basis until i baught a 1/6th metal Tiger 1 which was in need of a full restoration . The company that produced that model anounced the production of a 1/6th jadpanther, and as my name on another forum is "jagdpanther" the rest is history as they say .
I am the chairman of the UKTC, ( everyone else took a step back while i wasnt paying attention ) and a member of the SWTC , and i try to get to as many shows as i can .
I have just retired after 48 years in engineering and have a small workshop at home , i am never down the pub  :)
Other interests include large radio controlled model yachts, of which i have several, and tarantular spiders , of which i have 20 odd.
Cheers Dave
