Herr Doc!
Looks like I will be doing that fix on the screw holes after all. Ordering an entire new HL KT ( Henschel version ) with HL 7.0 electronics, recoiling BB cannon and metal tracks, sprockets, idlers, road wheels and suspension costs much less than ordering just the components to make up a complete Taigen\Torro lower hull. The new tank ( I will swap out those new BB components into the Porsche turret ) ATAK Zimmerit, and Details are on their way here now. New Commander too. I'll be the last one to finish this Group Tank Build but it should turn out looking very good and functioning much more like a modern RC tank.

I am not surprised that you found buying a whole new tank to be less expensive than locating, buying, and paying for shipping on various parts. There are so many fine 3D printed and even metal aftermarket 1/16 parts available, but especially here in the U.S., getting them can be a challenge, especially to the pocketbook. I am eager to see your new direction.

Good Afternoon,
Amazingly enough, parts are already rolling in for this Build. Props to Forgebear! Dave and Julie are Top Drawer in all respects. I suppose it is time to start taking the KT apart and prep the turret for Zimmerit.

Thanks! I was glad to be able to still find ATAK for the old HL Porsche KT. Watching the post for more fun!

Good Afternoon!
The new King Tiger arrived yesterday. It looks good. I'll charge up the supplied l-ion battery it came with and test functions tonight. The fun part will be swapping out bb and smoke into the Porsche turret from the Henschel one.

Good Afternoon,
I ran the new HL King Tiger last Friday night. WOW is all that describes it. Creeeping Speed on command, accurate engine sounds along with gun fire and MG fire along with a _scary_ BB Cannon and cool recoil. A smoker that actually works and produces more with accelerated engine speed. When did Heng Long bring all this to the Table? For a Decent Price as well. I should have looked up from Taigen\Torro and Mato\Clark some time ago.
As far as Health stuff goes, My Doc up in Denver did a Televisit with me last Wednesday. She was fairly alarmed after receiving the Medical Report that accompanied my MRI. Herniated Disc being the least of it, Lumbar Spinal Stenosis, my Spinal column is growing closed around the Nerve trunk in my Lumbar region. She told me to get to her Neurologist ASAP and do whatever he says. Otherwise, within a year, I would be paralyzed and doped up just to keep from crying with the pain this would produce. So all spare Dimes are now being directed to remain mobile. I should anticipate surgery that will involve pinning my spine in place while it is routed out and smoothed using lasers or summat. Wheelchair and bed for 6 months to a year while I heal. I hope that I will be able to sit up right and work and enjoy my Hobby since I won't be getting out a lot. There is the latest news for those who wanted to know. Whew...

Painless

Painless: I am sorry about the tough news and days of surgery and recuperation ahead. I wish I had magic ability to fix such problems instantly and, well, painlessly. I would bet many of us here on RCTW feel the same. Please do stay in touch with us as you are able, so we may cheer you on with each triumph.
And, yes, I, too, have long preferred the V3 Taigen/Torro for the sound. But now HengLong and TongDe are way ahead in control. Taigen/Torro needs to get on the ball before it's too late (if not already).

Good Morning, Herr Doc,
Thanks for looking in. We go on until we don't is the Stoics view. Back to Tanks, the fun reason we are here. ;o) That new KT works so well that it would be a shame to tear it apart to upgrade the old Porsche KT. I suppose I will be diagnosing the old KT to order new parts for suspension and an upgraded board to get better sound and smoke function out of it. No new Zim needed since the new KT would not have had it applied. I 'm not sure if I'll bother adding recoil to the old KT since no one I know of makes a recoiling barrel for the Porsche KT. I could modify it but would then lose the look of the early barrel on that tank. Anyway, I'll end up with two great King Tigers instead of one.

"I'll end up with two great King Tigers instead of one." I'm glad you decided to keep the new one as is. The new speed control, etc., is dandy.
