I'll be there Pete on Saturday & Sunday, flying the flag, come and say Hi

I'm trying to persuade them to re-install the Midland Model Expo there, which they used to run 2004-2005 if memory serves, that used to be a cracking show, aimed more at modellers than model engineers.

Went to this for the first time last year. Mainly for the 'engineering' side of things. About 90% of the people there are model steam nuts. Not my thing. I like to see the unusual things people build - steam is sooo 18th century.....

Went to the Guildford model engineers show about 2 months back and there were a few (working) scale models of car and plane engines, multi-cylinder jobbies and so on. One model of a 1920s/30s Bentley engine ran so smoothly I could only tell it was running by the faint wisp of exhaust! Very impressive.

After trawling the model engineering shows the last year I recently bought a 'cheap' Chinese lathe. I recommend you all to avoid them and buy a 50yr old quality English Myford lathe instead!

See you at the show next month!

Happy tanking

I was there last year exhibiting on the Sunday with some of my 1/16 stuff problem was after charging all the batteries I went and left them all at home bat the one in the Pershing still it was a good show.
Robert if I remember right they only dropped there model show because of the model show at the NEC, then after that one collapsed the new owner of the NEC pulled the plug last minuet after we had spent months building stuff for the 18x18 meter battle field we had been allocated.
They shall not grow old as we who are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
WE WILL REMEMBER THEM
