I took a look at the instructions. I guess if it were me doing it, I would fill the inside with Miliput and then pin it in place. I however have a Proxxon mini-drill press that would make quick work of drilling the holes. I may have some time this weekend to show you how I would pin it.
Thanks, I will wait for your message.
I have drilling machine.

Here is problem with swingarms and torsions:

I am just a bit confused, velthal and Met5: do you mean that one should NOT replace the stock gears?

I should have explained that I have one of the Metal Origin Puma kits (as well as the new Andy's Hobbies static model). So I am interested in learning what I can before I even attempt the Metal Origin one.

On Puma from metal origins, my first impressions:
1. it is advisable to replace the original gears. but if not replace them, be sure to put washers.
2. cvd should be selected or refined. as for refinement, there are at least 3 solutions on the forum. I am interested in Met5 option (but he does not answer me).
3. The servo drive platform should be modified to 4 mounts instead of 2.
4. I don't know how in the latest revisions, but in the first revisions, the upgrades interfered with the operation of the main parts. For example, the motor rests on the stiffener, the gearbox from the turret rests on the motor and the lid does not close, cvd bones have the wrong stroke and the wheels bounce.

Thanks, Derek. CA is a good glue for torsions. I finished 2nd track. maybe tomorrow it will be first run for my 251.

Thank you, velthal: that is a useful, clear list of points about which to be cautious. I will continue watching quietly, but grateful for every post you provide.

a brief list of current cases:
251: started, but suspension adjustment is required. tracks are constantly running away. haven't figured out how to fix it yet.

234: a plan of action seems to be starting to emerge.
I will put bushings or washers on the shafts, cut the cups, probably using lmcq11 method. I would like to hear Met5's opinion :).
I burned my elmod puma.
updated: ok, i did like lmcq11. Work perfect. Done 4\8.

aero-mate tiger 1: finally figured out how to connect and control the external brushless motors. however, one of the sticks on the remote control started drifting and it's a bit of a hindrance to full operation. Time to choose a smoker. i have one of these, pictured below. Should I keep it or are there better options now?

Puma progress. I installed upgraded bones kit, cut shaft cups and installed wafer.
