Re: M5A1 stuart build log!
So, had a little time yesterday evening and decided to chop off the front fender guards, I will be leaving the rest of the side skirts on though, I've looked at many pictures of the stuart online and found photos of it in many different guises and decided that this was the option I preferred.
I've also cut out the further most vent at the rear of the engine deck and replaced with some mesh, the only thing to be careful of doing this is there's a mini board attached right underneath where you need to cut away which links the front and rear lights together, this needs to be pried off very carefully as it's quite small and glued down securely. The sound has improved slightly but I'm still going to replace the tiny speaker when I come across one.
A few little jobs left to do before it gets a coat of paint
Cheers,Lee.

Crews often uncovered the sprocket for easier access when changing tracks.
PS. The insides of the hatches were not white - a mistake on Coolbank's part (and a common one among modellers).

It's going to be getting a full repaint so the hatches won't be a problem

Another pic I came across online showing the stuart having it's hatches being painted white inside ( at least the front one's anyway ) so maybe not a total mistake on coolbanks part, I may just yet leave the one's on mine the same to add a bit of variation in colour
