A lot of the tanks come from near to my place, Versailles !
The new ones , from Satory [They had a TIGER too, if I remember]
Not from Satory, from the UNIVEM association. They have a very nice collection, and that's just near my place ! If they don't bring the M26 Pacific to Normandy, I'll visit them, they are about 30 min from my place.

"Going to Normandy from 7th to 9th of June to take some reference pics." Oh, yes, we can all benefit from those (Hint Hint).
Sure I will take as much pictures as possible and I'll post them (or share on demand if I have too many).

So I will !
(This morning , 3 C130J and a C17 in Cherbourg Airport (But they're not tanks ) and too much clouds & rain to have good photos ; I can see them from my home)

I was wondering why I saw two times in 10 min a Globemaster very low right above the house in the landing configuration (I bet they have been asked to wait for landing the first time), that's probably the same plane, they're no reason there's a Globemaster around here !
I remember in the early 70s my dad gave us a choice between going to the pool or to see a C-5 Galaxy at nearby Hickam Air Force Base (we lived just outside of Pearl Harbor). My kid brother and I chose the pool (we liked to swim) but dad took us to the Galaxy anyway. 50 years later that tour is still in my memories!

My Dad was stationed at Fort Shafter in Hawaii in the 80s. I have a bunch of pics from when I was about 13 from Hickam Air Force Base. They used to have an Armed Forces Day and brought in stuff from all the different services displayed on the airfield. I remember walking through a C5 Galaxy and have pics of me in the cockpit of a Chinook with a helmet on. I have another one sitting behind an M60 in the door gunner seat of a UH-1 Huey. I even have one standing on top of an Abrams tank. Good times...
I'm sure it was an Armed Forces Day or the earlier version of that. There was much to see but the Galaxy was what I remember. They had a submarine museum close to where the current sub/Arizona museum are. Back then they had a mini sub out front of the museum that my kid brother and I would climb on. Several years later I learned it was one of the mini subs used in the attack on Dec 7th.

This afternoon, 2 Globemaster's, the first one landed in a big rainstorm( look for airports : CFR /LFRK and CER / LFRC )
