I worked on the port side vision port.
My questions:
is it too open?
should I close it up before I complete the repair.
Thx. See the picture.

Re: Tiger 1 drivers vision port
its tough to see from your picture. If you could focus it better and take a pic from a higher angle, that would be helpful.

Looks like the gap is good but I don't see the rise of the block above. Perhaps some styrene strips on top could help...

There is a company near me with 3 D printer capability. They need a CAD file. Would that be helpful to fabricate the correct port?

Re: Tiger 1 drivers vision port
I sliced up the stock Heng Long part to create this.
In Master Chef's viewtopic.php?t=34859 build he did this:
This might be the time to experiment with "scratch building". Does not need to be styrene (but it is cheap and easy to work with). Consider any material that you could cut and glue above the visor. Fill, sand and Paint...

Sorry, I don't know if those file are available...MrChef wrote: ↑Mon Nov 06, 2023 7:56 pm Next step Drivers Visor. My only concern was would the Mato piece have any of the slightest overlap or would there be a gap.
Razor saw time-
and off she goes. lets see how the new piece fits...
It has the slightest overlap it needs cleaning up but fits perfectly
Overall this part will go smoothly and I'm satisfied.

Just buy one.
Its not worth the hassle to go another way.
