Fender-less King Tiger H/L
I split the Tigers up into two threads. The first four post are from the Fender-less Tiger I thread that started Jan of 2024.
Pretty impressed with this kit out of the box from Heng Long (I'm sure there are others who might disagree).
Hull reinforcement .080 Aluminum on the floor and sides.
Styrene floor and bracing. Tons of room in this one.
Cleaning up the underside.

The King Tiger on the other hand is a bit more straightforward, but depending on your time period, can also vary significantly from a visual point.
Getting the guards off on an H/L KT is not a simple cut & run. But after looking at that stupendous Sherman recovery vehicle you've done, you got this in bucket loads

King Tiger cupola visors.
Added some backers.
Edges of the sponsons needed a trim.
The edges of the sponsons had a wave. Straight channel clamped and then a pass with a butane torch got things straight again.
Will add some filler tomorrow.

Finished the sides. Need to add some flame cuts and learn some zimmerit techniques.
Getting the King Tiger ready for some zim, I needed to finish the rear door job.

Great warp straightening method. Consider it swiped.
I think that's the best look just before primer--all the things you've smoothed, filled, corrected, accurized, detailed, and achieving the look you wanted.
This will be a good 'un!
Mike.

Yeah, it worked far better than I expected. Worked on the first try. Small butane torch, one pass just hot enough to discolor the surface and let it air cool for a couple minutes.

Looking great Eric. It looks much better without the side skirts, it seems pretty massive and aggressive this way.

Just to be clear, I haven't touched this tank since the end of January. This new post was just separating the Tiger I and II threads to suit the new builds format.

Yeah I noticed that, still I had not see that, that's great to discover builds you have may missed!
Don't worry, my King Tiger has been in the making for 15 years!
