Willy's Jeep

Post by silversand »

Hi Everyone
I've been a fan of the history and build quality of the Willy's jeep since childhood. Eventually, after updating my skills and knowledge, I hope to have a go at building one .

ps Thanks for the warm welcome,

What scale are you shooting for? 16th is the scale most of us use for our tanks and a 16th Jeep is pretty small to hide electronics in (but doable). Not sure what experience you have had with RC...
Several great Jeep builds on here. If it were me and I wasn't concerned with it going with my tanks, I'd shoot for the 6th scale size. Still not huge but would be much easier to make a working RC rig. I know there is at least one in 1/6th that is a RC ready Jeep.

Thanks for the helpful replies Ecam. I forgot to mention that my new hobby in retirement is learning to do woodcarving. I'd hoped to gain enough skills to be able to carve/build a Willy's jeep in wood. A scale is to be decided later as I acquire necessary skills and confidence.

...Well I did a search of "wood" and came up with 1275 (1276 with this post) yet in my skimming I found no Jeeps. Yours should be a unique model - RC or static!
