This is great news. With over 80,000 M-113 produced, sold worldwide and used in most conflicts of past 60 years, the possibilitities for variants and markings are endless. Having built 4 RC 1/16 M-113 variants myself using Ludwig, Verlinden and Tank Modellbau components with a lot of scratch building, this kit will greatly speed up the detailing and reduce the overall cost.
Although it does not have a turret, it is an exciting model. It is technically possible to have an RC M-113 with detailed interior. opening rear ramp and riders for an interesting RC model and for display. I used different motorization options, with various success.
The big question is whether the kit's Vietnam era T130 tracks can be used for RC. Until now, we had to make do with the expensive Nato Diehl 513B tracks from Tank Modellbau. Some of these components can be used with the AHHQ kit. I'll certainly give it a shot at converting the AHHQ kit to RC with interior detailing.
