PLA with thickness under 3mm WILL bend on the sun.

Any PLA without significant structural reinforcement will bend in the sun - that's the key. If this guy is taking models designed with 2mm thick (or less) flat panels intended for ABS or PETG and printing them in PLA, then he is simply setting himself up for failure.
