Photo etch mudguards have arrived for this. Now have to learn the best methods of assembling these. I would like to solder them for strength.

I Superglued 1mm of plasticard to the back of the PE, It gives it the rigidity it otherwise lacks.
I think I am about to upset someone

But of course. Not that I am building a Sherman. Quite why you want to model my incompetence.Exhibitedbrute wrote: ↑Sun Feb 25, 2024 1:02 pm This build I will have to watch, as Nottingham yeomanry is the regiment some of my Sherman’s are loosely based on I may if you don’t mind even build one using yours as a guide

That brass work is excellent! I was toying with doing that on my fender-less Tiger, but did not think I could pull it off!
Just curious, how thick is that stuff and how did you manage such perfect bends?

Once in place, run a good bead of straight PVA glue under them with the hull upside down.
It will add a bit of shock absorption to them and won’t be visible.

You do have the skills, you just haven’t realised it yet . This is my first time with PE.
According to my none too accurate micrometer 0.25mm. The bends to give the mudguards the shape were done in a vice. The damage was done just by manipulating them between my fingers. I am just trying to replicate what I see in the pictures I am working from. The tank was pushed out of the way, off the road with a Sherman, following capture.

They do look fabulous, but keeping them in that same shape will not be easy. I guess adding some thin card (pre-shaped) to the underside (as was mentioned) could help. But these are by far my favorite fenders I've seen to date.
