Marvelous job Mr Coleman, the home made welding tools look like Prison shanks !!
The Kv2 is a big canvas to cover.

Coleman, that turret work is exceptional! You're feeding me a scrumptious 10 course tasting menu with wine pairing on Tank texturing and detail! Will there be a cheese course or intermezzo? Wait, don't spoil the surprise...

I figure if I'm ever incarcerated in a 1/16 prison, I'm all set!

The tower is very well made. The body is not made correctly. This is a very big mistake. The rear upper armor plates were never welded to the hull.

Doh! :headbang: Easily fixed! Many thanks! Moral of the story--never follow the weld lines you see on the model.
So what's happening with the KV-2 in Moscow, is it just getting some cleaning and some new paint, or are there bigger plans for it? Interesting to see the interior shots of the turret.
Many thanks for the great photos and inspiration for one more addition to my KV-2 that no other photos captured in enough detail!

Good Morning!
Also, Thank you for the cool Pics. I didn't mess with weld seams on the 'Crackerbox Palace' build because the KV2 series runs were built mostly before the start of Russian outright war with Germany. Those Tanks were built with care and were as good as a Soviet production AFV could be. I built multiple scale models and read the 2 volume series on the KVs (courtesy of Sassgrunt) and other books such as 'Stalin's Giants' to gain some insight on these amazing Tanks. Enjoy your Build, it is coming along wonderfully.
following along as well,
Painless

These are excellent photos. The photo immediately above captures the bulkiness of the KV-2, but there are also other intriguing things in the background. Where is this outdoor museum?
